Creative Thinking for Productive Writing
Saturday, November 10, 2012 from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM (CST)
College Station, TX
Frustrated because the words aren’t flowing?
Can’t turn off the voice of that nagging perfectionist in your head?
Grappling with one or two ideas, instead of the dozens that you know are out there?
Just plain stuck? Don’t give up! Creativity can be learned.
At this retreat, creativity scholars and all-around fun people Hector and Suzanna Ramos will use a hands-on approach to teach us creative thinking skills that will bring insight and resilience to our writing (and other areas of our lives) and forever banish writer’s block.
Hector Ramos is a facilitator and trainer of creative thinking and innovation. He is an expert in Osborn-Parnes Creative Problem Solving, including creative cognition, emotional principles and instruments to enable groups to discover and leverage their creative potential. Hector holds a B.S. degree (Honors) in European Community Studies (French and Italian) from the University of Wales and an M.S. degree in Creative Studies and Change Leadership from the State University of New York, Buffalo College.
Apart from conducting workshops on cultural competency, Suzanna Ramos also designs and conducts workshops on supervisory skills. She is a third-year doctoral student in Educational Psychology at Texas A&M University, focusing on creativity, giftedness, and intelligence. Suzanna holds a B.A. degree (Honors) in Geography from the National University of Singapore and an M.S. degree in Creative Studies and Change Leadership from the State University of New York, Buffalo College.
Lunch will be provided. Attendees will be asked to select a meal closer to the event date.
